The Designer

After graduating wiht a degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising from De La Salle University’s College of St. Benilde. Bridal couturier Elizabeth Vy began living out her dream.

She set up her own design shop and started to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. With the vision of truly developing her own style and gaining experience, she studied in the Fashion Institute of the Philippines and Central Saint Martin’s London College of Fashion. In 1999, she was among the to 22 finalists at the Young Designers Competition.

Vy now caters to a wide range of clients and specializes in weddings, debuts, and proms. She alos has ready-to-wear line of cocktail dressess for special events.

Personally designed by both Elizabeth and her sister, Edelice, the Stella line of limited edition cocktail dresses was launched in July 2007.

Her classic, elegan designs come from mixed style. Working closely with her client, she finds out what they want and browses around the inspiration, which really can come from anywhere – from the materials themselves andeven form accessory pieces.

When asked why she does it, she mentions her childhood; how she’d always wanted to ge into design and today, how fulfilling it is when her clients enjoy what they’re wearing.
