How to prepare a Philippine wedding
A Philippine wedding is a celebration rich in many symbols, superstition, religious belief, and spirituality. This is reflected with the many little things that such an occasion requires. Aside from the wedding ring and candle, there are things that you need to know in order to prepare an eventful, meaning-rich, wedding.

Arrhae or arras is a form of jewelry made up of gold, precious metals, or coins. It is considered a dowry, a price that the husband pays to his wife’s family. Tradition for Philippine wedding requires that the exact number of coins in the jewelry must be thirteen, to symbolize the thirteen people sitting on the Jesus’ Last Supper.
The Couple’s veil is made up of delicate lace-work or embroidered soft cloth to be cast upon the couple facing the altar. The sponsors put on this cloth to the couple as a symbol of unity, as well as purity, so that the couple will be undivided throughout the marriage.
A Philippine wedding would not be complete without the couple’s cord. This is a knot that forms the figure eight, with one loop to be gathered around the necks of the couple. This signifies infinity of the union (the number eight suggests never ending cycle) and oneness.
